Class Details
In this one day class taught by visiting instructor Sian Hamilton you will make a beautiful mandala pendant using a specifically designed texture mat to create the cell structure that will be coloured in with acrylic inks and sealed with clear resin. The finish gives a lovely faux enamel gloss.
You will have the choice of making a double-sided pendant, colored on both sides or two single pendants.
You will learn how to roll, texture, cut and shape your mandala. How to refine the silver clay for the perfect finish.
Pendants will have a hidden arch bail added on the back for hanging.
The pieces will be fired during the lunch break and polished. In the afternoon you will learn to paint with acrylic inks and use UV resin to seal the color. A full range of colors will be available, so you can walk away with a unique design!

About the Instructor
Sian is a British designer based in Surrey, United Kingdom. She has a BA in 3D Design specialising in metals and ceramics.
When silver clay came to the market in 1996 it was the perfect medium for her. First developed in Japan and distributed in the US in 96, silver clay took a couple more years to reach UK shores. Sian has been involved in the metal clay community since 1998 when she first got her hands on this wonderful material.
She started teaching with silver clay 20+ years ago and loves to help everyone see the possibilities of metal clay develop right in front of their eyes as they create their unique pieces in class. Whether Sian’s teaching beginners or an advanced masterclass, her teaching style is patient and caring, with a focus on a ‘can do’ style and as much guidance as the individual needs.
Sian also runs a web and graphic design business, alongside creating and selling 3D printed cutters for the metal clay community.
