Treat yourself to three unforgettable days in my personal studio, where creativity flows, ideas spark, and you’ll be surrounded by inspiration. This immersive retreat is designed not just to teach techniques but to ignite your imagination and give you the space to create something truly extraordinary.
Days 1 & 2 – Dive Deep, Dream Big, Create Boldly
For two days, you’ll immerse yourself in the magical marriage of glass and silver metal clay. We’ll peel back the layers of this fascinating combination, exploring in depth how to confidently secure glass within metal clay, how to calculate shrinkage, and the tips to help both materials harmonize beautifully in the kiln. You’ll then move into designing your own custom piece—an inspired creation where you can pour your heart into the details. With time to slow down and dive deep, you’ll move beyond “just making” into the realm of artistry—crafting a piece that feels like a true masterpiece.
Day 3 – Your Masterpiece, Your Way
Choose from my gallery of over 20 inspiring project ideas—or let them spark your own design twist. You’ll have the freedom to customize, play with textures, and infuse your unique personality into the project, while still following a clear guide to success. I’ll be right there with you, offering hands-on support, and sharing extra tips and techniques so your vision can fully shine. By the end, you’ll walk away not only with a breathtaking finished piece, but also the confidence and inspiration to keep creating long after the workshop ends.
I’m known for being a generous teacher—no question is off-limits, and I share my knowledge freely. With the personal attention you’ll receive and the relaxed pace of our time together, don’t be surprised if I throw in bonus skills and cover more than what’s even listed! You’ll also receive handouts of the techniques, and a full written tutorial for the project of choice, so you can recreate the magic at home.
Whether you’re brand new to metal clay or ready to expand your advanced skills, this time in the studio will be all about learning, experimenting, and creating work you love.

Three delicious meals a day during full studio days, plus snacks and drinks available. Have dietary needs or allergies? No problem—we’ll plan around you after registration.

Three full days of immersive studio time designed to inspire and challenge you.
Tools Provided
All necessary tools will be provided for your use during the retreat. If you have favorite tools you’d like to bring, feel free!
Clay and Creativity Kit
Each participant receives a curated kit that includes:
- 60 grams of fine silver clay
- 100 grams of base metal clay
- Glass cabochons
- Crushed stones
- Materials needed for the project of your choice
- Bonus surprises!
Additional clay and supplies will be available for purchase during the retreat.

What’s Not Included:
Travel to Utah
Plan your own travel to the Salt Lake City area. The nearest major airport is Salt Lake City International (SLC). The retreat begins at 9:00 AM on Day 1 and wraps up at 4:00 PM on Day 3.
Travel to/from Airport
My home studio is located in South Jordan, UT, just 21 miles from SLC airport. Uber and Lyft are both reliable and readily available.
Where Are We?
SC Designs Studio is located at 11391 South 675 West, South Jordan UT 84095. It is accessible from I-15 and the 11400 S Exit.
Studio & House Accommodations
My cozy home studio is on the lower level, with both indoor and outdoor entrances requiring stairs. Two bedrooms are upstairs, and two are on the lower level with the studio, which has its own bathroom.
Breakfast and lunch will be served downstairs in the studio or living room, while dinners will be upstairs in the kitchen.
Refreshments—water, soda, coffee, tea, and snacks—are always available in both spaces to keep you fueled for creating.
Closest Airports
Salt Lake International Airport – Is our major airport. It is located just 21 miles North of the studio. Depending on traffic its a typically a 20-30 mins drive
Provo Airport – Is a very small airport located 30 miles South of the Studio. Depending on traffic it is approx. a 30-45 min drive. This airport is very small and services Allegiant Airline. They do not have a lot of flight options but some of found some very reasonable priced flights through them.
A Note About Our Furry Hosts 🐾
You’ll be warmly greeted by Nacho and Lola, two small, enthusiastic pups who will bark when new guests arrive—but don’t worry, they settle down once they get to know you!
They will not have access to the guest bedrooms, so you’ll always have a peaceful, pet-free space to relax and rest.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
You may cancel up to 45 days before check-in for a full refund, or choose to reschedule for a future retreat.
Cancellations made within 45 days of the retreat will be refunded minus a $200 per person fee to cover non-refundable expenses (such as transaction fees and preparation costs).
Studio Waiver
To comply with insurance requirements, all guests will be required to sign a release waiver prior to the retreat.
