This was out of my element, but I really wanted to try something new. I joined an online workshop, working through a great book called Celebrate your Creative Self by Mary Todd Beam.

For the background I used many different items to create the texture: Tissue Paper, dryer sheets, netting and spackle. I think my favorite was the dryer sheets, they really gave in interesting texture and took color very well. I did the dragonfly and Asian symbol (love) with a stencil and a heavy gloss medium.

Once my background texture was dried . I colored the pieces with acrylics, alcohol inks, Perfect Pearls, sharpie markers and a gold leaf pen.

I embellished the pieces with bamboo, wire, charms, fiber and some Asian coins.

I thought to get to know me a little better I should introduce you to my family!

Lonnie and I have been married for almost seven years now. He is my number one fan and very supportive of me and all I do! He always tells me "you can do what ever you put your mind too!".

We have two beautiful children, Jovani (six) and Jazlynn (three). They are really active and keep us going! They always want to be doing something! They are both very happy children and really make us laugh! I am very grateful that I have been able to stay home with them while they are growing up! (Again thanks to Lonnie for working so hard to make this possible).
